I spent most of my as a recording and performing musician and singer looking for a sense of rootedness - I spent many years involved with American roots music. Much to my regret it has only been in recent years that I have discovered that what I was looking for was in my "own back garden". Many of the traditional English folk tunes that I now play originated in Northamptonshire or the surrounding counties of the Cotswolds.

2 new songs coming on the music page John Pearmain is self penned and written about the Quakers of Long Sutton in Somerset, who during the persecutions of late 17th and early 18th century met in secret in an apple orchard. John Pearmain is a very old variety of English apple. Under the Leaves is our version of the fantastic traditional song that we got from the singing of May Bradley in the Topic Records series Voice of the People.
